74 Head of Holstein Dairy Cattle

48 Holstein cows, 9 Holstein bred heifers, 12 Holstein short bred heifers, 5 Holstein heifers (4-6 mo.)

 This is a good herd of dairy cattle that have been well bred for production.  A-I sires from Accelerated Genetics have been used for many years.  Currently 22 of the cows are in their 1^st or 2^nd lactation w/many productive years ahead of them.  Bulk tank receipts show a 55 lb. per cow avg. w/4.0% B.F. & SCC of 190,000.  The herd is not pushed for production w/predominantly homegrown feeds making up the ration & very little top dressed protein fed.  This sale will feature several young cows currently milking 55-75 lbs. w/the potential to do even better for their next owner.  The youngstock are well grown & will make excellent herd replacements.  All pertinent production, SCC & breeding info will be posted on sale day.
