55 Holstein cows, 2 Jersey x Hol. cross cows, 1 Red & White Holstein cow, 6 Holstein bred heifers (due July through Sept.), 7 Holstein bred heifers (due Oct. through Jan. 2012), 7 Holstein heifers short serviced, 4 Holstein heifers (ready to breed), 19 Holstein heifers (10-13 mo.), 6 Holstein heifers (6-9 mo.), 3 Holstein heifer calves
This is a very good herd of dairy cattle that have been well bred for production. Current DHIA info. shows a RHA of 24,692 m. 857 B.F. & 736 lbs. of protein. The herd is averaging 86 lbs. per day w/several cows milking from 100-120 lbs. per day (no BGH used). Bulk tank SCC is in the 175-220,000 range. Top A-I sires & individual mating w/Select Sires has been used resulting in sharp dairy cattle w/exceptional udders feet & legs. Several daughters of Mr. Sam, Canyon, Coldspring, LC & Jordan-Red will be selling. The herd has been 100% A-I sired & homebred for many years. This is a very young herd w/33 cows being in their 1st or 2nd lactation w/many productive years ahead of them. The herd is housed in a tie stall/stanchion barn & spend the majority of the day outdoors & are accustomed to bunk feeding. A monthly herd health program is practiced & all vacc. are up to date. The heifers are very well grown, accustomed to outdoor housing w/the bred heifers accustomed to freestalls & headlocks as well. All heifers are also calf-hood vaccinated.
